Why Leslie and Ben Are the Most Perfect TV Couple Ever

I know this has been a long time coming but I have to be honest with you: I'm not ready for Parks and Recreation to end.

This show has actually changed my life. I know that usually when people say that, they're referring to a big, dramatic show like The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, or Jersey Shore. But Parks and Recreation is my Jersey Shore.

Like Ronnie and Sammi, Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt had a love for the ages. It is emotional, sweet, and full of compassion. Over the course of 7 seasons (five of which included Ben), it is obvious why these two are the most perfect couple in TV history. That being said, I decided to make a list of the best Leslie and Ben moments. Here they are:

5. That time they had a little too much competition, The Treaty (S3E7)

This episode purely focuses on how Leslie and Ben are separately. We get to see how they are as individuals when it comes to something they care about which makes us really want them together more than ever. Apart they have the same fierce attitude, but together they are unstoppable.

4. When Leslie complimented Ben, Campaign Shakeup (S4E17)

These little parts sprinkled throughout the episode were just perfect. Parks and Recreation did a wonderful job of showing two people in love. While some shows have that resolution of “Yes! They’re in love! The end! Now watch them be normal again!” Parks didn’t have that. Leslie and Ben were always in love. Whether they were acting like best friends, campaigners, or parents, you still could look at them and think, "Yeah, they love each other.”

3. Drunk Leslie and Drunk Ben, Recall Vote (S6E7)

Everyone’s favorite drunk moment in Parks and Recreation is when the gang gets drunk on Snakejuice in The Fight, but mine is this. Leslie and Ben getting drunk because Leslie is being recalled is quite possibly one of the funniest moments in Parks history. Though the scenes were short, they were the perfect depiction of a couple who’s completely in love and who’s completely wasted: we see them sloppily make out, almost get tattoos, and even get a little fresh with each other - which, come on, who doesn’t love to watch?

2. When Leslie and Ben were engaged, Any episode it was mentioned

Boy did I loveeee when they finally got engaged. The fact that they were finally getting engaged in Halloween Surprise shook me in a good way. Afterwards, I did what any normal person would do: watch the episode three times over and cry at the exact same parts. How could you NOT cry when Ben shows up at the house? *Cries into pillow about the cutest moment in television history*

1. Leslie and Ben’s surprise wedding, Leslie and Ben (S5E14)

Move over, Will and Kate because this was the REAL wedding of the century. It was like Pinterest threw up all over Pawnee City Hall! It was here that we finally got to watch the couple we loved get married, and it was a dream come true. Oh and Champion walking down the aisle didn’t help the tears rolling down my face. He really is the dog world champion.
