Is It A Camel Or A Fish?

Also called the Arabian camel or the Indian camel, this is the one-humped animal that you know and love.

Camel

Much more rare, this is the two-humped species that is still around today. It is native to Central Asia. 
Now that we've gotten the easy ones out of the way, let's move on to the lesser known species!

Also called bigeye squaretail, this is a marine fish that is poisonous to eat.

Fish

This extinct genus was rabbit-sized and lived around 40-50 million years ago.

This camel is estimated to have been the size of modern camels. It lived in Northern Canada, where the mean annual temperature was around freezing.

Also known as Alfonsino, this is a deep water fish found in temperate and tropical waters.

This genus lived for about 7.2 million years and was the size of a sheep. Its name translates to “grass eating beast”.

This is also called the pumpkinseed sunfish (happy fall!) It is a freshwater fish that is native to North America, and is considered invasive in Europe.

You might know this fish as orange roughy, red roughy, slimehead, or deep sea perch. It is known for having a lifespan of up to 149 years!

This is an extinct genus that lived 300,000 years ago.
