Based on the mode of nutrition, all the living organisms can be classified in two groups: 1. Autotrophic and 2. #Heterotrophic Autotrophic nutrition Autotrophic Nutritional #Plant The term ‘#autotroph’ consists of two words ‘#auto’ and ‘#troph’. ‘Auto’ means ‘#self’ and ‘troph’ means ‘nutrition’. So , in autotrophic mode of nutrition the food is manufactured by the organism itself in the presence of #sunlight by taking in #raw #materials such as #carbon #dioxide or #water from the #surrounding All the green plants, blue green #algae and autotrophic bacteria have autotrophic mode of nutrition. Such organisms which can make their own food in the presence of sunlight by taking carbon dioxide and water from their surroundings are called autotrophs. Green plants and autotrophic #bacteria are the examples of autotrophs. These organisms contain a green colouring pigment called #chlorophyll which is capable of trapping #solar #energy. #funscience #puzzle of the day.. #digital #king A ruthless king has a cellar of 1,000 bottles of very expensive wine. An assassin infiltrates the wine cellar to poison the wine. Fortunately the king’s guards catch the plotter after she has poisoned only one bottle. Unfortunately, the guards don’t know which one of the bottles is poisoned. The poison is so strong that no amount of dilution will make it safe to drink. Furthermore, it takes one month to have an effect. The ruthless king decides he will get some of the prisoners in his vast dungeons to test the wine. Being an intelligent, if ruthless, king, he knows he needs to sacrifice fewer than 10 prisoners and know for a certainty which one of the wine bottles was poisoned. How does he know that?

Puzzle - CHICKEN, FOX, AND GRAIN

A farmer is standing on one bank of a river, with a fox, a chicken, and a bag of grain. He needs to get to the other side of the river, taking the fox, the chicken, and the grain with him. However, the boat used to cross the river is only large enough to carry the farmer and one of the things he needs to take with him, so he will need to make several trips in order to get everything across. In addition, he cannot leave the fox unattended with the chicken, or else the fox will eat the chicken; and he cannot leave the chicken unattended with the grain, or else the chicken will eat the grain. The fox is not particularly partial to grain and may be left alone with it. How can the farmer get everything across the river without anything being eaten?

NEEDLE FLOATING IN WATER

Did you ever notice that drops of water are always spherical in shape? Have you ever seen insects floating over surface of water? These phenomenon takes place due to an interesting property of liquids called surface tension. Surface tension may be defined as the inward forces of attraction that act on the surface of a liquid and help to reduce the surface area of that liquid. Surface tension helps the liquid drops to maintain spherical shape. You may assume surface tension as an invisible stretchable film surrounding that liquid.

In a box you have 13 white marbles and 15 black marbles. You also have 28 black marbles outside the box. Remove 2 marbles, randomly, from the box.
