The spook-friendly Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado was the inspiration for Stephen King's horror novel, The Shining. It's also reputedly haunted as what-have-you. Ghostly regulars reportedly include invisible children playing in the hallways at night and even original owner F.O. Stanley, himself. Other haunts include the Hotel Provincial in New Orleans and Room 218 at the Crescent, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
