Much attention these days about the book “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” by Reza Aslan.  My point of view: The fact is a treatment of Jesus as man without treating Jesus as God is a half truth. Jesus crucifixion was about His direct claim that He is God- Jesus the Christ/Jeshua the Messiah. Islam always states that Jesus was a good man, a prophet but NOT God. That is their opening point and their closing point. But that is the half truth and thus deception put forth by Muslims and others - including comparative religion specialists. Jesus’ whole life, death, resurrection and current rule on His throne - is the total truth. Jesus was not put to death because He was a political rebel. Jesus was put to death due to His claim of being God and the Son of God- which certain Jewish Pharisees (not all) believed was blasphemous. Jesus said directly He Is the Messiah and His kingdom is not of this world… yet. The premise of professor Aslan’s book is incomplete and a half truth. The truth is revealed in the books of Genesis through Revelation - and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus himself accepted His death and freely gave his life to atone for the sins of the people of the world, and through His resurrection He conquered death, sickness and poverty. That is the story and the claim and the good news - that anyone who believes in Jesus as the Christ/ Messiah, repents (turns to Him) and calls Jesus Lord has eternal life with Him - starting at that moment.
