1. Deborah Meaden

Where are they now? Deborah Meaden is best known from the business programme Dragons' Den. Despite not doing A-levels, Deborah has continued higher education. She studied business at Brighton Technical College and has three honorary degrees. She’s made millions in the holiday business and is now worth approximately £40 million.

2. Richard Branson

A-levels: Zero.

Where are they now? Richard Branson struggled with dyslexia during his school years. But despite dropping out at 16 without “official school qualifications”, he has still managed to create the hugely successful Virgin Group, made up of over 400 companies. He also owns a space shuttle and a Caribbean island.

3. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini

A-levels: Zero. Cheryl left her secondary school in Newcastle at 16 with no qualifications. In her 2012 memoir she explained that she would rather "hang out with OAPs" than study.

Where are they now? Despite having achieved no A-levels, Cheryl has gone on to be a member of Girls Aloud, an X Factor judge, a solo artist, and the current face of L’Oreal.

4. Guy Ritchie

Where are they now? Despite being expelled from school at 15, Guy Ritchie went on to have a successful career as a film-maker, directing movies such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

5. Jon Snow

A-levels: Jon Snow achieved a grade C in English, but failed all his other subjects.

Where are they now? After going through clearing, he ended up at the University of Liverpool to read law. However, he ended up being rusticated for taking part in an anti-Apartheid protest. He is now a successful journalist and television presenter for ITN.

6. Lord Alan Sugar

A-levels: Zero. In fact, Alan Sugar only has one GCSE.

Where are they now? Alan Sugar had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. After he left secondary school, he started selling electrical goods out the back of a van. Despite not pursuing A-levels, he’s created a successful business and is now worth around £900 million.

7. Kate Moss

A-levels: Zero. Kate Moss was spotted at JFK Airport in New York. At the age of 14 she was signed to a modelling agency, so didn't pursue A-levels.

Where are they now? Moss has since gone on to achieve supermodel status, and has been part of fashion campaigns all over the world.

8. Simon Cowell

A-levels: Simon Cowell left school with the equivalent of a GCSE in English language and literature, and another in sociology.

Where are they now? Despite not taking A-levels he has gone on to be one of the most powerful people in the music industry, and worth approximately £300 million.

9. Robbie Williams

A-levels: Zero. Robbie Williams did not pursue A-levels. In fact, he failed all of his GCSEs (even though he was predicted decent grades).

Where are they now? Despite not-so-good academic qualifications, he is one of the most successful solo artists in British music history. He has toured around the world and is loved by many.

10. Jeremy Clarkson

Where are they now? Despite not getting the best A-level grades, he is now a successful TV broadcaster, journalist, and writer.
