Ok let’s talk about actual law here, which is of course what is supposed to govern police and there actions. As she was not driving a motor vehicle when the police arrived she did not have to hand over her licence. As she had not been informed that she was being detained nor was she in a police station and she announced that she was leaving yes she had every right to walk away because in these United States you do NOT have to speak to police and unless you have been arrested if you stay there with them it is considered voluntarily staying whether you are in a questioning room or you are in a public place, perhaps she should have asked if she was free to go perhaps not but announcing that she was leaving should have been enough. Walking away is not fleeing, she was not under arrest so she either needed to be told that she was being detained for questioning not since policeman muttering under his breath that he wouldn’t do that if it were him. That is not sufficient cause to place her in hand cuffs. And another thing when you are placed in hand cuffs you are supposed to be pat down, since she is a woman there legally needed to be a female police officer there. This was a miscarriage of duty. On her part the inky thing she could have done differently ifs ask if she was being arrested and if not asking if she was free to leave, the police are only allowed to detain a person in public without arrest for 5 to 10 minutes max. This was police harassment and yes out probably was a race issue and a class issue and the police officers who did this should have been reported immediately.
