Schwarzenegger & Stallone Connections

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Sylvester Stallone, the two biggest names in action cinema, have had a long history together full of nods and winks to each of their films. How many of these references have you spotted?

1. Last Action Hero

In Arnie's classic film, Last Action Hero, you would have seen in the video store a sneaky poster for The Terminator 2... starring Sylvester Stallone!

2. Demolition Man

Stallone has a little wink at Arnie in Demolition Man, when he is dumbfounded as he discovers that Arnold has became president. Quote "Woah, that guy was PRESIDENT?"

3. Twins

In Schwarzenegger's Twins, Arnie laughs when he come across an (awesome!) poster of Rambo. He then compares his muscles to a poster of Rambo.

...That was before he got pregnant with Danny DevIto in Junior!

4. Rocky IV

The film featured a sort of robotic, well muscled 'bad guy' that has a funny accent, one suggestion is that the 'machine like foreigner' is a dig at Schwarzenegger.

5. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot

Estelle Getty who is Stallone's mother in the film, has a line "I'll be back" to which Stallone replies "Terminators say that, not cops." A very clear reference there!

6. Fancy Meeting You Here!

In 2012 Schwarzenegger and Stallone found themselves in the same hospital and would you know it, right next to one another for the same shoulder surgery.

7. Escape Plan

Finally in 2013, more than 35 years after they first met, Schwarzenegger and Stallone co-star a film Escape Plan!
