you know you're not really celebrating Thanksgiving if you don't eat Turkey, sorry but it's true.

I always bring lots of veggies spiced just right with added nuts where ever I go to Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving really is a tradition harvest festival, so I'm glad to be thankful for the harvested veggies.

Tofurkey for me. alas, the UnTurkey (with its delightful seitan “skin”) is no more.  ms. blig and blig, jr are going with duck: Colonel Hall: Duck with Orange; duck with cherries; duck surprise.
Mrs. Hall: What's duck surprise?
Basil Fawlty: Er… that's duck without oranges or cherries.
Colonel Hall: I mean is this all there is - Duck?
Basil Fawlty: Yes… done of course in three extremely different ways.
Colonel Hall: And what do you do if you don't like duck?
Basil Fawlty: Well if you don't like duck, you're rather stuck.

I'm a vegetarian who hasn't given up cheese! I'm eating a Quorn turkey this year.

I'd recommend skipping the meat substitutes (tofurkey, etc) and just cook lots of delicious fall veggies. Look for creative recipies with squash, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, apples, pears, onions, mushrooms. Eat things that are fresh and in season and don't settle for boiled or canned vegetables.

Thanks for sharing, it's really pretty simple….for most recipes you can sub veggie broth/stock for chicken/turkey/beef broth. Turkey aside, Thanksgiving is pretty veg-friendly…though the Tofurkey, as awkward as it is, does the trick if you really need it (I don't).

i could give up meat and eggs if i had to, but i don't know how i could go on living without cheese.

been a veggie for 30 yrs - last few years been doing the tofurky loaf which is pretty good plus most of the sides my wife makes are meatless as well
