you know i went to read an article about gilbert godrieds twitter comments on japan and ironicaly i found anothr persons quote about japan in the same article that just about sums up this argument perfectly,it was larry kudlows of msnbc’s comment about the japan disaster,he said “The human toll here looks to be much worse than the economic toll, and we can be grateful for that,” ok so there you go and this guy is just a tv analist ,but this is the exact type of thinking and mentality that theses big busniess types and ceos, coos,cfos,and huge multinational corporations take,they dont give a shit about people ,only money,they have morals or common decency ,but they sure love to preach it to us when it comes to piracy ,and something that effects their bottom line,or i should say ,that they perceive could effect their bottom line ,we all know that piracy isnt costing them shit ,oh and above in my last comment ,i meant they dont want to pay people a decent living wag

,most real artists release their work for free ,if they want to make money they can go on tour ,if they have any talent they will be able to make plenty of money from touring alone,if there real artists and they care about their fanbase and not just about making money they will reward their fans by comming to their cty on tour,and if their any good and their fans want to reward them,then they will buy a ticketits called give and take,not just take take take like the labels and no tallent assclowns that call themselves artists do,plus the artists only see about 2% of their earnings if they sign on to a label ,thats why there starting to have their own indie labels more and more,if something is liked eonugh and people feel its worth owning ,like maybe a starwars box set then they will but the physical copy,but most of what is put out is not for the sake of art its for the sake making money and exploiting people for money and its garbage pure fuckin garbage ,and its getting worse all the time,oh yea red riding hood,theres a movie i want to see,oh no hollywood isnt running out of ideas,ruthless souless no talent jews that want to make a buck for exploiting people and marketing diarheaa ,that about sums up holywood and tv,and big record company and music company execs,they have no intentions of paying the people who do the actual work or that have the actual tallent a fair share,more like 98 for me 2 for you,but most of the time the “artist”doesnt deserve it anyway because there no talent schmucks that have ony sold their soul to corporation for money,yeah gilbert i do want kill the music if its fucking garbage like that ,please kill that fuckin shit im fuckin beggin you ,would love to turn on a radio or tv and not have to hear crap like licoln park and brittney spears and boybands and there not loosing any money there fukin multi millionairs how much money is enough?its all the richest asshole in the room bitching about how he has no money

Wow. Gilbert is kind-of a fucktard. If McDonalds gives you a hamburger for free, they have one less hamburger. If you torrent a copy of Twilight, Sony, or whomever the fuck owns that franchise still has every copy that they printed. I never intend to pay for such filth, so my downloading the film is not a lost sale. But, god forbid, I actually enjoyed the movie, I may be so inclined to buy it after all, thus GAINING them sales. This exact scenario occurred about a year ago when Left For Dead 2 came out. I was hesitant to buy the game because I had been warned that it was really just a glorified expansion pack. So, I torrented a copy of the game, and enjoyed it so much that I went out and bought a copy!

Maybe Victory should consider putting out music that isn’t worthless.

Comparing a service market to a commodity market, very classy. They don’t really get into the technicalities of where the money is going when you pay for their music, it’s going primarily to the promoter who’s garnering a good percentage of the profits. Where is this money going? To pay for Gilbert Godfried making a PSA apparently, but mainly for the producer to get rich. Artists don’t get very much profit off record sales since the label puts all the money in for the production of the LP or EP. Artists make a lot more of their money off of the actual tour sales, so I always laugh when it comes to the whole “support the artist/music” thing because out of all honesty, all you’re doing is supporting record labels in an age where home recording is getting easier and easier to do yourself.
