What I worry about is the standard that this sets for criminal behavior. A hardworking, average Transperson has to work had to save up hundreds of thousands of dollars for their surgery. Meanwhile, someone who beheaded their own wife just gets it gifted to them for free? Under this model, why is good behavior penalized, and homicide rewarded?
LOL not sure why Buzzfeed deleted my comment, censorship is hilarious. I said that it does bring up a good point as to where taxpayer money ends with prisoner’s rights. Does this mean that someone can essentially rob a bank and demand the charge of breast implants to be taken out of the everyday person’s paycheck? If Bradley wants to be Chelsea, she’ll have to raise a fund and find a way to pay for it herself. But to forcibly take a portion out of the paychecks of tax payers to pay for this is a little ridiculous.
I do think it brings up a good question of where taxpayer money stops with prisoner’s rights. If someone robs a bank and then demands the charge of breast implants to be withdrawn from the everyday person’s paycheck, where does the entitlement really stop? If Bradley wants to become Chelsea, then she’ll have to find a way to pay for it herself or raise a fund. But to expect other people to pay for it and just get it for free is a little ridiculous.
