Congratulations to this year's Hockey Hall of Fame inductees for the Class of 2015. Those to be inducted on November 9, 2015 at the Hall in Toronto include Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Fedorov, Chris Pronger, Phil Housley, Angela Ruggiero, Peter Karmanos Jr. and Bill Hay.

Lidstrom captained two Detroit Red Wings teams to the Stanley Cup Finals, winning one in 2008 and falling the next year in 2009 in seven games to the Penguins. Lidstrom along with Sergei Fedorov were also a part of the Red Wings teams which won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1997 and 1998. The Wings swept both series, the first against the Philadelphia Flyers and the second against the Washington Capitals.

Chris Pronger is an interesting case. His career effectively ended due to a concussion and his three years of inactivity on the ice enabled him eligible for Hall of Fame induction. He however never officially retired from the Philadelphia Flyers organization despite now being employed by the league's Player Safety Department. Even more interestingly, Pronger's contract was traded just this past week to the Arizona Coyotes by Flyer's general manager and former goaltender Ron Hextall. So technically it would seem Pronger goes into the Hall as a member of the Coyotes.

This was the first year of eligibility for Lidstrom, Fedorov and Pronger each. Congratulations to them and the entire Class of 2015.
