The Sergio García And Tiger Wood's Dispute Screams Of Jealousy

It's not a matter of what the marshals said per say. Could it have been a gesture, nod or nonverbal sign that Woods mistook as a go signal? In any event why does "character" readily come in to play at a moment’s notice?

Anyone following Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods over the years knows the two are not the best of friends. The two prodigy's careers have taken entirely different paths in the golf world.

Let's face it, Garcia has not won any majors and Tiger has more money, majors and tournaments to his credit than Garcia can imagine.

On Saturday, during the Players Cup, what was very evident in Garcia's grievance about the crowd around Woods distracting his backswing is envy.

    Yeah I said it.

Frustration about Wood's success is seeping from Garcia's comments: "It's very simple," García said during an NBC interview. "You have to pay attention to what's going on because the other guy is hitting. You do something when you're in the crowd, and the crowd is going to respond."

Tiger responded by saying, "The marshals, they told me he already hit, so I pulled a club and was getting ready to play my shot, and then I hear his comments afterward and it's not real surprising that he's complaining about something."

Sports Illustrated is reporting the chief marshal John North disagreeing with Wood's excuse, "I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We're there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans period. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character."

I agree with Stephen A. Smith of ESPN. No matter how much money and success a Black man has, I don't care if you make it to the White House there is still a level of scrutiny carefully wrapped and packaged for Black men.

It's not a matter of what the marshals said per say. Could it have been a gesture, nod or nonverbal sign that Woods mistook as a go signal? In any event why does "character" readily come in to play at a moment's notice?

Nick Faldo's comments about Woods were outrageous and over the top as well. One has to ask why, after what Woods have brought to the sport.

Even one of the most successful athletes of our time, His Airness himself is scrutinized for wearing cargo shorts at a golf club these days.

I'm not crying 'race' here. I'm shouting "IGNORANCE"!
