Tragically Woodard cited a terrifying truth, there are actually more slaves in the world at this moment than there were during America's haunted past; which make Hollywood's renewed interest in depicting this era of great significance.
This movie surpasses the Gone With The Wind expression and hits the same cords that the Amistad touched about the human experience of slavery in America.
