10 Tips To Rock Your A Cappella Audition

Auditions can be terrifying. Fear not. We've got 10 tips to make your audition a breeze. Sign up for an audition time for The Amateurs at www.theamateurs.org!

1. Stay Hydrated

At least one day before your audition, make sure you are drinking plenty of water (and/or tea). Also avoid alcohol and caffeine which can cause your body to lose water. So save the festivities for after.

2. Get Plenty of Rest

Sleep is hard to come by in college but make sure you get a solid 8 hours the night before.

3. Carefully Choose Your Audition Song

A good song is one that shows off your range but is comfortable enough that you can perform it confidently.

4. NO DAIRY

Milk. Cheese. Yogurt. These delicious treats are great at any other time but NOT before your audition. Dairy and singing do not mix.

5. Don't Dwell on Mistakes

Nobody is perfect. If you make a mistake, brush it off and continue to rock your audition. Side note: One of our current members puked before her audition. #pukeandrally

6. Avoid Yelling

Take care of your voice before auditions! Yelling and screaming might leave you without one when you need it most.

7. Dress For Success

8. Be Yourself
