Who Said It: Gandalf Or Jesus?

Two wise men, probably with beards, lay down some knowledge.

So, we can all gain truth from various sources, but sometimes it is the sources themselves that be quite confusing. Although many people do not have the problem of getting Gandalf and Jesus confused with each other, the more you know about them, the more similarities you start to see. Both had beards, and gathered a motley crew of people to follow them around and do stuff which was really dangerous, and they were completely unprepared for. Both sacrificed their lives for that motley band, and both came back again. But can you decipher who said these words: Gandalf or Jesus?

I will not say, do not weep, for not all tears are an evil.

    Gandalf!

It is in Men that we must place our hope.

    Yup, Gandalf again.

For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?

    That one's Jesus.

It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.

    Gandalf again.

If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.

    It's the J-Man!

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.

    Oooh, tricky...

    Give it up for Jesus!

Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

    Gandalf!

The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This one feels pretty obvious, right?

    Jesus!

Let your light shine before men.

And last, but by no means least:

End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it.

That's right - the one, the only...
