Zayn Malik's Classy Ettiquette After The Zerrie Breakup

It seems that the newly single RCA artist has truly moved on.

As we all know by now, the new RCA recording artist Zayn Malik is portrayed as a bit of a heart break kid. He broke hearts everywhere on March 25, leaving One Direction to allegedly to live a normal life (although there is speculation on whether or not the Facebook statement were his exact words).

On May 6, he shocked fans again, this time by calling former bandmate Louis Tomlinson's twitter comments "bitchy" in an attempt to stand up for himself and former associate Shahid "Naughty Boy" Khan.

He then surprised the world a couple of months later, severing his relationships with Naughty Boy after a bit of a music video featuring Zayn was leaked on the internet, allegedly by Naughty Boy and a friend.

The latest tale in Zayn's list of severed ties is one you either saw coming for years, or you were shocked beyond belief.

On August 4, 2015, just mere hours after Louis Tomlinson confirmed on Good Morning America that he was going to become the first true Daddy Direction (and kick started a bunch of debate on whether it was exactly a confirmation), People magazine broke the news of Zayn calling off his engagement to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. He'd reportedly called the engagement off two weeks prior to the article's release. Perrie confirmed later that day in an interview with E! News, and Zerrie shippers were devastated.

Soon, stories of how the break up happened began to come out of the woodwork. At first, it was said Malik ended things through a phone call. This version is understandable, as Zayn was in LA and Perrie was in London when the break up was said to happen. It wouldn't make sense to jump on a plane just to break up with someone. It's a waste of money and emotional energy.

However, it wasn't long before the questionable British tabloid, The Sun, broke a so called "exclusive", claiming that Zayn dumped Perrie via text message. Dick move as that may be, the content of this article was questionable, as its content was unprofessional at best.

Since then, the group Little Mix has been touring the US, promoting their single "Black Magic". People have begun to notice little digs the group has been taking toward the newly single Zayn. There are reports that Jesy Nelson has been alluding to the fact that Zayn needs to be shown what he's been missing, by pointing at Perrie during certain song lyrics, something that's happened in several performances. Recently, a ill-timed photo of Jade Thirlwall holding a sign that questions Malik's relevancy was posted to Twitter and sparked a lot of debate.

As more and more of Little Mix's antics are being reported, it is beginning to be assumed that someone in the break up is bitter- and it isn't Zayn.

Not surprisingly, Zayn has remained silent on the break up, save for one tweet that in the end could have been meant for anyone.

Other than that, Zayn seems to be moving on with his life in a healthy way. He's been tweeting about making music and his love for his fans. He recently was photographed at Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday party (and no, despite favoriting a tweet of hers on Twitter, the two are not romantically linked), and he attended the Straight Outta Compton premiere looking unbothered by the speculation and accusations that have been thrown his way.

Zayn is showing us all how to act after a break up. He hasn't spoken ill of his ex fiancée, and it doesn't seem like he will, either. For example, after Naughty Boy recently shaded Zayn (the damning tweets have since been deleted), Zayn merely posted a photo of Ballys in Las Vegas, where he was spotted at a club some time later. Just a month ago, we could have expected him to strike back with some harsh words of his own.

The new record label and management team seem to be giving him some great advice and he is taking it. As a result, he's looking more and more like a serious artist these days, not at all concerned with the dramas of high profile relationships, both personal and professional. It's a mature look for the man people once saw as the Bradford Bad Boy, and it's a look a lot of people appreciate.

No one wins in a breakup, but Zayn Malik has clearly come out looking classier in this one.
