1. Mikel Ruffinelli is the proud owner of the largest hips in the world. The 40 year-old mother of four’s hips measure an astounding 8 feet in circumference.
2. At 5ft4 and 420 pounds, Ruffinelli consumes 3,000 calories a day to keep her “bootylicious” figure.
3. She credits her four pregnancies for her unusually large hips. Ruffinelli began gaining weight at age 22 after the birth of her son Andrew and her hips ballooned with her three subsequent pregnancies.

4. Ruffinelli tried to lose weight through milkshake and other fad diets in the past, but now she claims to be happy with her body and works hard to stay healthy. As she can’t run on land, she works out through water aerobics classes.
5. Mikel Ruffinelli: “My husband finds my shape sexy and we have an amazing time in bed – there’s no position we can’t do! He tells me I’m beautiful every day. Men don’t like skinny girls, they like an hourglass figure.”

6. She lives in Los Angeles, where she is working on a psychology degree, and models for a Big Beautiful Women website to earn extra money.
7. Mikel Ruffinelli: I don’t want to get bigger, but I don’t want to lose my curves. I look great. I hope I inspire women to think, ‘She’s happy with her body and I can be too!’”

juliawill 4 months agoI understand that this woman and her husband are happy…to each their own. But I don’t think this is or should be an inspiration to anyone. No one should be encouraged by this. This woman is overweight to the point of being disabled! She can’t run on land. That’s like voluntarily cutting off one of your appendages and being like “whatever, I’m comfortable this way.” SAD.

noellejb 4 months agoI’m trying to imagine what my life would be like if I made myself five feet bigger around the rear, and all I can think about is…what about the potty?
I guess most women are uncomfortable with their shape, but I know that I would be very uncomfortable if I took a pair of Hammer pants and stuffed them full of sofa cushions and tried to go about my day. Good for her, but it looks terribly inconvenient. -

SatelliteJane 4 months agoShe “works hard to stay healthy”, yet she eats 3000 calories a day? I know she’s not a long distance runner, since “she can’t run on land”, so unless those water aerobics are water marathons, how does she combine THREE THOUSAND calories per day and being healthy?

I’m conflicted. I’m glad she’s happy, however glorifying this kind of unhealthy weight is dangerous, just like glorifying an anorexic body weight is dangerous (i’ve never met a happy anorexic btw). But she’s happy…and a lot of woman who are 120 lbs or smaller aren’t happy with their small, healthy bodies. At 5’4 I’ve never been over 110 lbs (I’m 97 now), and I’ve never been satisfied with my weight or body. I honestly don’t know what to think about this.

rachaelt5 4 months agoI think she’s had to convince herself that she’s happy, because she’s tried to lose it before and has failed. You see it all the time on the biggest loser. I just wonder what her doctor says? You have four children, but the fact that you can’t run around with them and may possibly not live to see their children doesn’t matter, as long as you are happy with your self. What kind of mother..?
