From somebody that has taken the cecchetti, russian, and french methods of ballet, cecchetti is NOT gentler on your body. My feet and leg muscles ache more after cecchetti than after tap class and as anyone that has every taken tap can tell you, that is really something. Also all pointe shoes damage your feet and cause bunions/blisters, not just the “wrong” ones. If finding the “right” pair really prevented this then no professionals would have damaged feet because their shoes are all custom made. The severe deformation in the picture however is most likely caused from the dancer beginner pointe at too young an age, when the growth plates are not fully heeled in the feet. If one dances on pointe before they are fused, it can cause stinted growth, crooked joints, and many, many, many more problems.
