20 Reasons I Love My Mom

Sometimes my friends like my mom better than me. Migdalia is one cool lady.

1. She sends me selfies with my dog when I'm away in school.

2. She sends me funny music pictures because she knows that I'm going to like them (even if she doesn't understand them).

3. She makes sure that I'm safe whenever I travel to visit people.

She always asks for a picture to makes sure I'm telling her the truth.

4. She lets me know when is not the right time to text her.

5. She lets me know how much she loves me by using a lot of emojis.

She uses the blue heart because blue is my favorite color.

6. Sometimes she sends me cute things to make me smile.

7. She's a very confident woman and I aspire to be as confident as she is.

8. She asks the real questions.

9. She's a proud mom and not afraid to brag about her kids

She posted this as a Facebook status one day:

"Even though they are grown now, they are better than I was at their age, and it is marvelous to see how we affect each other's life. I am so proud of them and the adults they are today. For me, to be able to listen to their way of thinking about the world, being kind to others, respectful and curious of diversity, and even when they get angry/sad/frustrated because they see injustice, that is priceless."

10. But she also is not afraid of showing the world when she's annoyed by me.

11. She made me go to a cemetery with her just because she saw a tombstone with her nickname on it.

12. She is willing to take pictures with me with the same pose throughout the years.

I love it whenever she makes me rice and beans with some chicken.

16. She stopped my brother from ruining some pictures. Sometimes.

17. She took me to New York for my quinceañero.

The trip was way more fun than any traditional quinceañero party.

18. Even though she won't dance in front of me, I know she was and still is an incredible flamenco dancer and she inspired me to dance when I was little.

She can also play the castanets and I think that's really badass.

She has done so much for me. I call her my best friend and she calls me "weird" because of that, but I am so lucky to have a mother like her and have this amazing relationship with her.
