The Walk Of Death: Northern College Experience

My experience, as a college student, walking to class in the freezing temperatures.

Wake up, Wake up!

If you're like me, you've got about 45 mins till class. Meaning you need to savor 10-15 minutes of that time walking to class.

But What Do I Wear!? (Grinch voice)

If you're a girl, like me, you look outside and say ehh it's sunny and I also don't have time to check out cold it is outside. So you pick the usual. TOO CUTE

Jeans?! NEVER.

Jeans suck, everyone knows this. Leggings for days.

Make the final adjustments..

Time to leave, and if you're lucky, you'll look like this guy! (But I doubt it)

This is the most important process: How many jackets do I wear? Is it 1? 2? Maybe it's 2 with a sweatshirt? Ah, it looks sunny out, just two for the day.

And if it just snowed the previous night, you might opt for this option!

Watch out world! Here I come!

But probably not because you're a diva. So you go out looking semi-normal but then the cold hits you.

Seriously, it snows almost every day, yet somehow you forget how freaking cold it is every time. Especially on those days when there was a heat wave (35 degrees) the day before and the next day temps turns back to subzero. (I'm talking about Indiana)

IT'S SO FREAKING COLD!

Take a look at your handy dandy weather app to check the temperature. LOL THANKS INDIANA. (What's not included here is the wind index, which is like -20 or something) But hey! At least it's not -5 today!

You start dreading your legging decision and the two jacket thing.

Everything starts going wrong. You can't feel your face, your legs feel numb and you're pretty sure you're going to DIE.

FINALLY, I SEE THE BUILDING!

It's like a glory moment when you know everything is going to be okay.

Everything is okay now because you've made it there alive!

Happy Me! In class and happy to learn because I'm in a warm environment. (lol, not really me.)

But after the class you have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN. And this is your reaction:

God Bless my soul.

And at the end of the day you just think, "Why didn't I go to school in Florida?"

But tomorrow is a new day. I think I'll wear two pairs of leggings instead of one. (:
