How-To Spray And Finish A Candy Paint Job- Bayone Customs Exclusive

Our good friend TC and Bay One Customs are building a killer custom truck that’s a replica of an original Chevy Concept vehicle (read more here: HERE) to show at SEMA 2013. Recently TC and crew built a custom center console for the truck and they showed us how to spray it in a candy paint job and flow-coat the clear coat. These are the pro-tips that are the secret to creating that deep, wet paint job that you see on all of the top show cars at SEMA. Catch the videos below and make sure you keep your eyes peeled for some sneak peaks of the truck sprayed in Eastwood top coats!

In this video, Bay One Customs' TC Penick makes it seem like quick work on a 5-hour paint project, as he presents a 3 minute extract of a 45 minute spray-by-spray review of the process. We finally get to see some Brandywine color on the handcrafted center console that fits in the SEMA 2013 Cameo Concept Truck. TC Penick chronicles a before/after video look at the hand-crafted center console to be installed in the Chevy Cameo Concept truck he's taking to SEMA 2013 in Las Vegas. He also explains his method of wet-sanding after the 3rd coat of clear, to prepare for another 3 layers of clear coat called "flow coats". The result certainly reflects the effort.
