No, they're not flip flops. They're jandals. And they're going to be what your feet wear for most of the year. Forget your jelly soles, ditch the socks and sandals. Buy a good pair. Bad jandals don't last long.

And ale loves fear not, there's a seriously decent micro brew culture here, ensuring you can stroke your beard and consider hops at your leisure.

And, for me personally, it's Golden Kumara all the way. For best results, do what the hell you like with it, it's good with anything. Forget your Po-ta-toes, it's all about the Kumara.

Pie is dinner right? Some vegetables and mashed potato and you're all set. Wrong. Pie in New Zealand is potentially breakfast, lunch and dinner. And we're not talking a Greggs mysterious meat pie, we're talking steak and cheese. Watch out for your waistline, and make sure you know where your nearest bakery is when you're hungover.
