Rocco, one of several police dogs that make up the Pittsburgh Police's K-9 unit, was stabbed while aiding an arrest on January 28 and died from his injuries on January 30. You can read more about Rocco here.

When it became clear that Rocco's situation was rapidly deteriorating, several law enforcement officers arrived at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center to show their support for him.

As his body was taken out of the veterinary hospital, he was given a fitting tribute that included many of his fellow K-9 officers.
