Y'know, “damn your eyes” is one of my favorite sayings. I use it all the time. I think it's super awesome and funny. However, I have found that not only are strangers often confused and disconcerted when they hear this phrase directed at them, often they actually take offense. They get angry! Weird, huh?  I still say it though.

I react to the blatant anachronism in this cartoon. The daguerreotype was invented in 1837 - more than a decade before the first bowler hat.
