    Scientists who toiled here were pioneers in developing the transistor, cellphones, touch-tone dialing and fiber optic communications, amassing seven Nobel Prizes.

    For forty years over 6000 researcher's worked at the Eero Saarinen designed Bell Labs complex in Holmdel NJ. The building was dubbed "the biggest mirror ever" as it was 2 million square feet.

    In 2006 the building was sold and as of 2013 plans are in place for mixed use development.
