Extra Cheese Please: 5 Lip-Smacking Movie Scenes That Will Have You Craving Pizza Like Crazy

Sometimes just the sight of pizza will have you craving like crazy, and these 5 movie scenes will be stuck in your head until you get a bite of that heavenly Italian creation.

You know the feeling—you're in the middle of watching a movie, and suddenly something comes on the screen that has you drooling and your stomach growling. You try and focus on the movie, but once you see that scene with delicious food, you can't stop thinking about it—no matter what food it is. For anybody who wants to get in the proper mindset before ordering from the local pizzeria, these are five movie scenes that have the power to get the cravings going and maybe even convert some pizza skeptics.

Spicoli Makes Class Delicious in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"

Most people who attended high school have similar memories: long, boring classes, mounds of homework, a cliquish social culture and cafeteria food that leaves something to be desired. That is why Sean Penn's Spicoli character in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" became a hero to many by ordering a pie to be delivered directly to his classroom. Unfortunately, the teacher is not to thrilled by this, but that plain pie sure looked delicious.

Tony Manero Eats Two Slices in "Saturday Night Fever"

New York City is where pizza originated in the United States with Italian immigrants at the turn of the 20th century, and many local Brooklyn pizzerias still carry on the authentic NYC thin crust tradition. John Travolta's character in "Saturday Night Fever" displays no self-consciousness while scarfing down not just one but two of these Brooklyn slices at once while strutting around Bensonhurst with the Bee Gees on the soundtrack.

Julia Roberts Chows Down on the World's Best Pie in "Eat Pray Love"

Brooklyn pizza may be authentic, but not as authentic as a pie straight from the source: L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Naples, Italy. As Julia Roberts' character bites into a gooey margherita pie with a perfect, slightly charred thin crust, gooey, amazing-looking fresh mozzerella and pieces of verdant, flavorful basil leaves it would take some kind of superhuman power to not become hungry.

Sophia Loren Knows Her Pizza in "Houseboat"

With Sophia Loren and Cary Grant, 1959's "Houseboat" already has enough star wattage to light up the screen, without any pizza needed. However, in a scene in which Loren demonstrates how to fold and eat a gooey slice, pizza becomes the top star of "Houseboat," at least temporarily.

Peter Parker Makes a Delivery in "Spider-Man 2"

Being a superhero may be fulfilling, but at least at the start of "Spider-Man 2" it does not pay the bills. Peter Parker's boss at the pizzeria gives him one last chance to deliver a stack of pies to an office building on time, and Parker must resort to his Spider-Man persona, slinging webs across skyscrapers with an armful of pizza boxes. It is hard not to feel bad for the bystander who grabs a slice only to have Spidey take it back.

For anybody who has tried pizza, it is not too difficult to make pizza seem appealing. In fact, the mere mention of the food is often enough to get stomachs growling. However, these five scenes do the difficult job of making pizza even more appetizing.
