The Berenstain Bears Are Going To Be Used In A Hate-Filled Chick-Fil-A Ad Campaign
Our beloved children’s books family The Berenstain Bears are going to be tainted thanks to a new hate-filled Chick-Fil-A ad campaign that is going to feature them. My 5-year-old gay self is silently weeping.
Everyone’s favorite bear family is going to become tainted soon thanks to the evil-doers at Chick-Fill-A. Apparently at the end of this month, The Berenstain Bears will be featured in an ad campaign that showcases “family values,” which is something that that idiot of a CEO strongly believes we gays don’t have. After The Muppets pulled their toys from their meals, they’ve been trying to snag The Berenstain Bears for an ad campaign, and it seems it’s finally going to happen.
So far, 80,000 signatures have been obtained for a petition that’s going to be handed over to the publisher of the books, HarperCollins. The authors unfortunately, don’t have any say in this matter and are urging everyone to contact the publisher.
If I recall my childhood correctly, I do remember being taught a message of tolerance and acceptance in those books. There are many times my teachers sat my ass down and made me read those books when I was acting a fool, and they seem to have taught me a lesson. After all, I’m not going around the streets of New York hissing at straight people when they kiss in public. Long live The Berenstain Bears!
