Kathryn Joosten, Emmy-Winning Character Actor, Passes Away

The actress best known for her recurring role as Karen McCluskey on “Desperate Housewives” and Delores Landingham, Secretary to the President on “The West Wing,” sadly lost her battle with lung cancer at the age of 72.

My favorite memory of her, playing J.D.’s “Old Lady” patient, who imparts some advice before passing away. The episode won the 2002 Humanitas Prize in the 30 Minute Category
