    Christmas and New Year can amplify feelings of loneliness. But support is there if you want it.

    If you're struggling, it can be difficult to talk about or know where to turn, particularly at this time of year. But there are people who understand.

    If you're in the UK, here are some services that offer support:

    Samaritans: Call 116 123

    For someone to talk to, confidentially, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can also visit their website.

    ChildLine: 0800 1111

    ChildLine is a private and confidential service for children and young people up to the age of nineteen. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can also visit their website.

    CALM: Call free on 0800 58 58 58

    Male-focused charity helping fight mental health stigma among men. You can call from 5pm to Midnight, 365 days a year, or visit their website.

    Carers: Call free on 0808 808 7777

    Support for those caring for loved ones who are older, disabled, or seriously ill. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm, or you can visit their website.

    Anxiety UK: 08444 775 774

    Help for those who suffer from anxiety and related disorders. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm, or you can visit their website.
