5 Awesome Ways To Propose

Here are some surefire ways to get your loved one to say "Yes"!

Perhaps even more exciting than the thought of getting married and wearing your new sparkling diamond ring, is the thought of being proposed to. Men have triumphed and men have failed miserably...but it's the thought that counts, right?!

So have no fear, I have compiled a list of 5 great ways to propose to your sweetheart. Do it right, and she'll be forced to say yes (unless you're a douchebag of course). Do it wrong....well, then you're on your own.

1. Ring in Dessert

It may seem cliché, but there are many women who like nothing more than something 'sweet' and something sparkly, so why not pair the two together? After taking her out to a romantic meal, have a dessert prepared and brought to your future fiance with a beautiful diamond engagement ring hidden inside. Make certain it is easily detectable so that your girl won’t accidentally choke on it....or at least try to get a "yes" out of her before she passes out!

2. Treasure Hunt

WARNING! This proposal is not for those who want it to be a complete surprise. Once you tell your partner that you are going on a scavenger hunt, she will know something is up...unless that treasure hunts are part of your regular couples routine. Nevertheless, the amount of effort you need to invest in this proposal will blow her away. Have her find little knickknacks along the way that symbolize your relationship. They can be small souvenirs or some of her favorite candies, snacks, and drinks. You can even hire a band to play her favorite song on a random street corner or not so random - maybe the place you first met! Of course, the last clue will lead to the much-awaited treasure (ring). Just ensure that the ring is well guarded and in a safe place at all times.

3. Roses EVERYWHERE!

Sometimes all it takes to enhance a proposal is by, enhancing it! Decide upon a room that you will decorate, from her bedroom, to a hotel room, to your living room. Bring her back to this room where she will find it covered in rose petals, and filled with lit candles. She will surely be taken aback and happily surprised as you get down on one knee to pop the question. Do roses really smell like booboo?

4. Portrait Proposal

This proposal idea requires a little extra planning and investment, but the result will be totally tubular. The idea is to get someone to pose as an artist (worn-out clothes, scruffy facial hair, maybe even a pony-tail and a beret!) , who will pretend to draw the two of you, and then present your better half with the completed portrait (which you had prepared already in advance). The finished picture will be of you down on one knee asking her to marry you. If you can find a real artist who will do this on the spot, it can be even more believable. Otherwise stick with plan A.

Note: If you really want to build up suspense (and be funny at the same time), have the artist show you a few different pictures first - perhaps of couples that look NOTHING like you, of animals doing naughty things...you catch my drift!

5. The Jumbotron Proposal

This idea is another one that has been done time and time again. However, if your woman is one for attention, there is no better way to do it than this way. Take her to a game/concert/event, where you have pre-arranged to be videoed proposing to her on-screen in front of the entire stadium/arena/NASCAR racing track, etc. Not only will you win, but hopefully your team will as well!

NOTE: You should be absolutely CERTAIN she will say yes...otherwise, you're in for some JUMBO-embarrassment!
