4 Things About A Man Named Dan
It may be cliché, but we'll begin with a fact - there once was a baby boy named Dan. He was born in Slough, and between then and now (30 years to be precise, well almost) many things have happened: big, small, interesting and mundane, much like anyone else. Dan's been writing for over a decade now, both for profession and passion - but what don't we know about him? Here are 4 little facts about Dan... 1. Dan Likes to Try New Things As a somewhat curious fellow, Dan likes to travel. Wherever he goes he seeks new experiences, knowledge and above all, fresh and exotic cuisines - sometimes at his own peril... On a tepid morning in a small town in rural Thailand, Dan's stomach began to rumble like Jackie Chan does in The Bronx, and in order to jettison his huger, dove into a small white tent in search of nourishment. The food seemed alien and although he was warned by the local vendor that his Western palette couldn't possibly stand the heat, curiosity and greed got the better of him. He dove into his plate of broth with haste and the lava-like stock scalded Dan's mouth in an instant. In search of water, he ran into the road and was hit by a moped. Despite this, he still likes to try new things and eats mystery items on the menu at any given opportunity. 2. Dan Has a Short Story Published Dan is an avid reader and fan of short fiction. His most recent short won a place in between the sheets of Tranquillity Publishing's 2014 Anthology, Halycon Days and Cyanide Nights - it's worth a read if you have a few spare moments. 3. Dan Likes People Developers, designers, wheelers, dealers and fellow writers - you name them, he likes them. Although Dan does likes to escape in books, the web, shops, the sky, the bottom of the occasional pint glass, and can be solitary when putting the proverbial pen to paper, Dan thrives when collaborating with people. He believes that by pooling together different ideas from plenty of vantage points, it's possible to deliver great things. Dan currently writes for a blog and plans content in a tight-knit team every week, and although not every idea makes the cut, he understands that three (or indeed, more) heads are often better than one. 4. Dan Doesn't Like the Mornings Correction, Dan does like the mornings and is very productive during these times; it's getting out of his cosy womb of a bed that he's not so fond of. But, in life we should all take on challenges, and what better way than facing, and overcoming the same challenge every single day to ultimately become a productive, hard working member of the community? In case you haven't got a little flavour of that man they call Dan, here a few other quick fire facts: Dan has written for a large number of online publications, Dan is a big believer in the power of social media, Dan lives to write, get better at writing, read, and get better at writing. Oh, and he plays bass in a band...and he's a secret Michael Bolton fan!
