1. Make Friends
College is all about expanding your horizons. Don't sit in the corner typing away on your iPad, sit in the middle of the classroom and spark up conversation with your fellow classmates.
2. Be Prepared For Homework
Not all professors are going to go through the syllabus on the first day. Be prepared to take notes and have assignments on your first day of class.
3. Find Your Classes Ahead Of Time
Nobody likes being "that guy/girl" that walks into class ten minutes late on the first day. Give yourself plenty of time to get to class.
4. Make A Good First Impression
Have you ever heard that first impressions are everything? While making friends is important you'll want to be on your best behavior, especially on the first day. Your professor and/or TA is getting their first look at you as a student.
5. Ask Your Professor How They Prefer To Communicate
Some professors love e-mail, some professors love the "pop-in" during office hours. Ask each professor you have how they prefer to communicate with students. This will save you many headaches down the road.
