Here's A Graphic Reminder Of How Scary It Is To Hit A Moose While Driving

A man was driving along highway 5 near Kuroki, Saskatchewan when a moose suddenly jumped out in front of his car. The impact sent the moose crashing through the windsheild, pinning the driver in his seat until people helped get him free.

The Wadena Volunteer Fire Department in Saskatchewan responded and later posted photos of the crash to Facebook.

Here's a look inside the car that shows the smashed windshield and part of the moose protruding into the driver's seat.

Brian Weber, deputy chief of the Wadena Volunteer Fire Department, told CBC News the driver is "a very lucky man," and that he only suffered cuts and bruises. The moose unfortunately died.

The driver, Henry Thomas, posted on the fire department's Facebook page to thank them for helping, and to say how lucky he was. "I was only driving about 90 km/h the whole trip and the moose just ran out in front of me."

His mother also said they're "thankful and grateful Henry walked away" from the accident.
