Davine S. 10 months agoMy heart hurts to read these. It’s one thing to know - academically - that those were *different times*, but to see these men so brazenly and proudly talk about abusing their so-called loved ones is abhorrent. They knew that their answers would appear in print, yet not ONE of them had the courage to say “Actually, I respect my wife and we communicate without violence”. Could they not find even a single example of that attitude? How many people did they ask? Are we to assume that every “Golden Age” romantic movie ends with this kind of post-script? My only (small) comfort is that these men are all surely dead. The sad truth is that it will be many generations before their legacy expires, if it ever does.
