Graphic Australian Safe Driving Commercial Will Make You Cringe
It’s from 1997, via the Transport Accident Commission, Down Under. Maybe it’ll make some of you idiotic city drivers slow the F*CK down.
For the uninitiated, Australian is known for their brutal highway and workplace safety ads (see this video, also via TAC, and these posters for WorkSafe Victoria).
We don’t show stuff like this here in America because, frankly, we love our cars too much and hate the dickens out of pedestrians.

The Angry Luddite a year agoIn 4th grade or so, I went to New Zealand with my family to visit an ailing relative. We were watching TV when this commercial came on with a family happily driving along, singing together, smiling. The dad looks back to grin at his family - standard goofy car commercial stuff, you know the drill - and then BAM. They smash into another car, blood everywhere. Father survives, one kid dies, wife dies, daughter ends up in a coma or something. It was a pretty traumatizing moment for me.
