It’s a shame these have all been divorced from their context, because they came from The Corsetiere. I’ve read almost all of her site - she’s a woman who worked for decades fitting women for foundation garments - and it’s absolutely fascinating.

I dress people in corsets at work every day, and often wear them myself to events. There is a huge difference between the expectations of a society that EXPECTS you to be corseted, and wearing one because you think it’s sexy and enjoy the look. And by the way, a corset is only uncomfortable if fitted poorly and cinched wrong…I have a natural 25.5” waist, so I wear a 20 or 22 corset (depending on the event), and I’ve done so without pain or discomfort for up to 12 hours. Also, remember that there is a difference as well between corseting once in awhile and actual corset training.
