Alfred Hitchcock Was A Brilliant Ad Writer, Too

In this 1964 trade ad, he kindly suggested that movie theater owners kill themselves.

The ad was for a reissue of Rear Window.

Sorry for the low quality scan, but this is what the P.S. says, to the right:

If you wish to avoid a self-inflicted close shave I would suggest the following happier alternative, call your Paramount representative — Book REAR WINDOW and follow through with the excellent advertising and promotional campaign prepared under my personal supervision.

Great copy, but he desperately needed a good art director.
