New York, NY - November 28, 2012 - BuzzFeed political reporter McKay Coppins has launched an exploratory committee to investigate options for being added to the 2013 New York City mayoral ballot. After strong support on social networks such as Twitter and Plurk, Coppins opened up to the possibility of a run and serving the city of New York.
"It's really my duty to at least look into the options. I haven't finalized any decisions and am certainly flattered by all of the attention but will need to discuss possibilities with my trusted team of advisers," Coppins said Wednesday.
Coppins has appointed the following preliminary team to aid him in his decision on whether to run for mayor of New York:
