"What does it mean to go without bread?" Jewish Labor Seder 2014, hosted by Kol Tzedek

    Thursday, April 17, 2014 @ 6:30pm
Calvary Center for Community & Culture, 48th and Baltimore Avenues

Though the "They tried to kill us, we won, let's eat" narrative strongly strings through several Jewish holidays... Most Jewish holidays, actually. Passover begs us to ask questions about injustices we see globally or locally that may (or do) jeopardize the sense of freedom that we so freely take for granted.

Kol Tzedek , along with other members of the Phialdelphia Labor and/or Jewish communities are holding a Passover meal to educate about the struggles of fast food workers in our area.

    Speakers include:

Patrick J. Elding, President of the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO

Kendall Fells, Organizing Director of Fast Food Forward, a coalition of workers, community, labor and religious groups campaigning to raise wages for fast-food workers.

Chad Tall, 21 year old Taco Bell worker supporting his unemployed mother, older sister and older brother on $8 an hour.

Registration details can be found on the link above and please note that nobody will be turned away from this event due to lack of funds.
