Ten Reasons We Love Sean Miller

Arizona's basketball season may be over, but our love for Sean Miller is still going strong.

1. The faces

As if 40 minutes of heart stopping Cardiac Cats basketball wasn't entertainment enough, add in those faces Coach makes? We can’t. Not only are they entertaining, but it makes us feel better about how intense WE look while watching Arizona basketball. Sure, he is yelling plays while we are just screaming at the TV but still! Sean Miller, he’s just like us.

2. He’s a class act

Sean Miller is a true gentleman. Win or lose (but mostly win) he always has kind things to say about the opponent. When we blew Oregon out to clinch the 2015 PAC 12 Tournament title, he said Oregon was "a dangerous team to pay against". You know he was digging deep for that one.

3. But he also says it how it is

What a gem! While Coach never hesitates to give credit where credit is due, he also never hesitates to let the ref know what we ALL think of that call.

5. He loves coaching at Arizona

When Coach Miller’s second season at Arizona ended in and Elite Eight loss to UConn, he had the opportunity to leave and replace Gary Williams as the head coach for the University of Maryland. Instead, Miller chose to stay in Tuscon.

“Nobody is happier to be head coach at any place in the country than I am here at the University of Arizona. If the deeper meaning of this is that I’m here for the long haul, unconditionally, that’s what that means. I am.”

We are too, Coach. We are too.

6. He encourages greatness, on and off the court

At this point, I've lost count of how many current and former player's have been quoted saying, "Coach Miller made me a better man".

7. He brought us TJ McConnell

As we all know by now, TJ McConnell didn’t start his college career off as a Wildcat. Before coming to Arizona, McConnell played at Duquesne for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

When Duquesne came to Tucson to play Arizona in 2011, Miller took notice of McConnell's desire to win, gritty attitude and all around awesomeness. McConnell transferred to Arizona and straight into our hearts in April of 2012, and the rest is history.

10. We get to watch this one from the start

Lute Olson is an amazing man, and Arizona was lucky to have him. His legacy will live on forever. But here’s the thing about Sean Miller, a younger generation of UA basketball fans get to watch this one from the beginning. We get to watch the build up to one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time heading to his first national championship. We get to be there for every gut wrenching, heart breaking minute of it. But its only a matter of time. And when that day comes, some March in the future, it will just be that much sweeter for all of us.

So you keep doing what you do Coach, and we will keep bearing down.
