5 Reasons To Never Miss A Home Free Concert Near You

Let me be the first, and maybe only, person to say that, while I'm a fan of Home Free, I always do a lot of eye-rolling after fellow fan has gone to a concert. Why? Because, invariably, they'll be gushing ad nauseam over how fantastic it was. Don't they know that the best sound you'll ever get is from an album? Honestly, don't they know ANYTHING? Wrong! After my first concert recently, I realized that I'm the one who was sorely missing out! And here's why:

1. That Bass, Though

You can hear Tim's bass very clearly on the album. If you don't believe me, just hop in your car, go for a drive, and crank up your Crazy Life CD as loud as you can stand. Then, turn it up two more clicks. Now, tell me that your speakers aren't rattling and that other drivers aren't staring at you! But, if I may be cliché: you ain't seen nothin' yet!

When you hear Tim's bass live, there's no way to describe it other than it reaches deep down into the core of your being and rearranges your organs while it's in there. Honestly, that's the best description I can come up with. Go see them live, I challenge you to come up with a better way to put it.

2. That Percussion, Though

Halfway into the second song, I had to remind myself that there was no set of drums anywhere in the building. Nope, that amazing percussion was from none other than their vocal drummer, Adam.

Just like with Tim, you can't really describe him. It's like a drum-set mated with a human, and the result was Adam. There's no way it's humanly possible to sound like a bass, snare, quads, cymbals and record-scratching all at once. Unless you're Adam.

Now, I will admit that I've watched a ton of concert videos before and I've heard so much about him "dropping the bass." Even after watching these vids, I still didn't get it. Drop what? What bass?

Me, after concert: Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....THAT'S what "dropping the bass" means. Seriously, I get it now.

3. Those Leads, Though

Rob's, Austin's, & Chris's voices are like a choir of angels surrounding you. Okay, really though, their buttery, mesmerizing voices take over the room. If you've never heard "A Little Bit of Everything" from every angle around you, then I suggest that you haven't really lived yet.

4. That Humor, Though

After the concert, my husband and I would just randomly blurt out "Aflac!" or "Open them!" I think I may have actually done more laughing than singing along with the songs. And y'all, someone tell me I'm not the only one who can't even deal with Rob's hilarious expression in this pic!

The humor that's portrayed in each song (sometimes even DURING the song!) had me rolling on the floor with laughter. Their senses of humor are contagious, too. I've had to write down a fair few of the jokes they cracked during the show, and I will certainly be tweaking them to fit my own life's situations.

And, yes, even the titles of my pics are based off of their humor. Although, I think in all fairness, it's probably more like "doe" than "though."

5. That Down-Home-Ey-Ness, Though

These guys are so down to earth. As I walked up to the autograph table after the concert, I could see each of them grinning ear-to-ear. Like they can't believe that this has really happened to them. That they've got their very own headline tour. That people from all over the world want to hear them. While I was standing there, they even thanked me and my friends for coming out to see them.

These guys were so humble and thankful for the opportunity that they'd received to play here. To play anywhere. How could you NOT love that?

These amazing performers have won me over completely. Musically, that is. From now on, it's a cappella or bust! I just hope they come back to a stage near me soon! Granted, it certainly won't be soon enough!
