    The Cutter (1808)

    In 1808, Arthur Benoni Evans authored the strangest etiquette guide ever: The Cutter, in Five Lectures Upon the Art and Practice of Cutting Friends, Acquaintances, and Relations. At least, I think it's supposed to be an etiquette guide. But hey, even the reviewers were confused. Especially since the author included instructions on how to "cut" reviewers. Oops?
