Che Grayson is a Brooklyn based filmmaker and comic book writer. As an MFA thesis student at New York University’s graduate film program, Che has written, directed and produced an array of short films and commercials, and studied under the mentorship of Spike Lee and Kasi Lemmons. Her award winning film and comic book series, RIGAMO, follows the story of a young Black girl who discovers that her tears bring people back to life. Che is a 2016 Marcie Bloom Fellow and is currently a Resident at TED, where she is creating a new media platform called Nerd Activist. The first project of the platform, IMAGINE US HERE, is an event series that puts a spotlight on creators navigating spaces where they are historically underrepresented. Her work has been featured on Ebony.com and Shadow and Act.
