On October 1st I’ll be able to get on the exchange and shop for something more affordable. Competition WILL drive the costs down, especially as the young people required by the mandate to get insurance start joining the pool. That was the whole point of the mandate - it’s to spread the cost and drive it down by having people who are unlikely to use health insurance in the pool.
