Too many allowances, to step away from the greater issues here that have already been addressed. How are the droids social outcasts, and how are they Luke’s friends over, say, Luke and Leia? Same logic applies to the mice from Cinderella and the random selection of two of the four hobbits. Chop up any story to make it fit your descriptions and they will all look the same.

This is kind of storytelling 101. It’s a structure that’s often encouraged in writing classes for these types of epics. This is no secret or any time of revelation.

Simba’s not an orphan, he has a mother. Also, Bagheera wasn’t a social outcast, he was a respected member of the jungle council thing. FAIL

Correction! Frodo WAS an orphan in respect to his PARENTS being dead, but he DID have a guardian: Bilbo! And also, does being an orphan count if you’re an adult? I always related the word “orphan” to a ragamuffin.

Seeing these comparisons are getting a little old. Plots are reused all the time; the one that applies to most of these even has a name. It’s called a monomyth. It has a book written about it too; it was published in like 1950. It’s called “The Hero With a Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell.  Though, I guess I have to give props for pulling in so many stories, even though a lot of them aren’t really true at parts.  OK, now let’s stop pointing this out incessantly, yes?
