British Women Share The Sexist Comments They've Received From Friends And Family

    "Catcalling is a compliment!" Oh.

BBC's Free Speech programme asked women to share the sexist comments they hear from friends, family, and online in their every day life, as part of their "Do we live in a sexist country?" debate.

Here are the answers they received, as voiced by volunteers.

    "Catcalling is a compliment!"

"Page 3 is just a bit of fun!"

    "Why are you always angry?"

"Don't worry your pretty little head."

    "Are you on your period?"

"A woman's place is at home!"

    "You're opinionated, aren't you?"

"You just need to get laid!"

"Sexism isn't as bad as it used to be."

"There is nothing worse than a drunk woman."

"Don't listen to her, she's just a dumb blonde."
