i always felt like there was something weird about the production values on ugly betty, and now i know! huge chunks of it don't actually exist.

I'm not sure why everyone is surprised. Taking just the Ugly Betty shot, do you know how much money it would take to not only to get the equipment and personnel to the site but how much it would interfere with the daily life of everyone in that busy city neighborhood if the crew cordoned off not only that sidewalk but the entire street stretching into the distance and all the space taken up by the film crew and their trucks behind the lens? Not only is this cost-effective for the studios these days, it's less disrupting for the lives of all of us.

For some reason, this really annoys me. Fair enough, if you've got to have some massive setpiece or backdrop that you couldn't realistically stage, then go for green screen. But to green screen an entire shot of Ugly Betty just walking down a nondescript street! That angers my blood.

That was rli lame. A lot of the scenes were just a small portion of green screen.. o.0 i vote nay

Yeah right, and I'm supposed to believe that those actors playing in front of those green screens are real? I don't think so buddy. All CGI.
