"We Brake for Hotties. (Official Music Video)

This video is a classic example of what can be done for nothing. Consumer cameras and Final Cut Pro. The band wanted to get Leinenkugel to buy them a bus to tour with. Their idea was the band playing on the lake with dancing girls in bikinis. A Facebook page was created to find the girls. They would be in a worldwide release for the video, shot/cut by an editor for Prince and other national commercials. That kinda locked me in. We met at a bar by the lake. One girl shows up. And her mom. The band had a song from their CD, which I hadn't heard, so we listened to it in the car. The lyrics were kinda XXX rated. Mom would freak, so I told them to play the song instrumental and sing only the hook "Brake 4 Hotties, Break 4 Leinies". The girl always wanted to be in a video, and mom wanted to help her get some exposure. Like 18 degree temperature with wind chill. I just wanted an ice cold beer. My home camcorder is 10 years old, the LCD screen is burned out, the battery barely holds a charge, and the zoom stopped working. I brought my vacation camera that shoots 640x480 video just in case. The bands carpenter friend wants to get into video and shows up with two Panasonic industrial cameras. I grab one and shoot as fast as we can in the freezing temperature. The girl is a real trooper and has a blast drilling holes into the ice. I make up a story line on the spot .. arrive, catch beers for the band, leave. After the shoot, we sit on the lake and rewrite the lyrics into a 60 second pitch spot. Something Leinie, the girl and mom will be happy with. Later we perform the song in the bands living room using freeware music software. Later when editing, looking through some of the bands old video, I notice a shot at the brewery. The band passed thru town on the way to a gig and stopped to take a picture. Girlfriend captures the lead singer singing the one line we wrote into the song while in the living room. It syncs up perfectly with the track. John Leinenkugel happens to stop by new Liquor store in Waconia, home of lead singer. Store owner knows about the video and talks up the band. We post the video Saturday afternoon and go to the Minnesota territory managers Facebook page to let him know its available. The band just happens to be booked that night in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin... home of Leinenkugel and they want the territory guy to make a call so everyone can meet. But the guys Friday profile status says he just went to sleep till Monday. Fast forward to the just released version of the full length music video.
