Interesting, but what smoker doesn’t have cigarrettes on them at all times? What need is there for a virtual “bum”?

Who is this for? If I’m the guy bumming smokes, now I have to collect an entire pack of cigarettes before I can get any, instead of getting one and smoking it and if I’m the guy sharing cigarettes, I’ve just bought a pack I can’t smoke so I can give cigarettes away to people who will now be asking more often because they can only smoke one when they have a whole pack.

I see the occasionals buying the virtual packs, so they don’t have to “run to the store” and trading virtual for real, the hardcores wouldn’t be losing out thusly. However, smoking is still dumb. Do this for beer though… and they’ve got my business.

Makes more sense if an occasional smoker bought a virtual pack, and everytime they bummed a real smoke they bumped a virtual one back to the person that bummed them one, then that person once they accumalate a full back can redeem a full pack for all of the cigarettes they gave out to people.

2 problems with this (that I see): 1. ‘hardcore’ smokers are definitely not going to buy packs of virtual cigarettes just to give away, at least at full price. 2. If a social smoker doesn’t have a full pack, then they can’t get the cigarettes immediately, and the whole point of bumming a cigarette is that you get it then and there, without having to go to a store.  Otherwise, it’s a novel concept, if poorly executed.

Great advertisement idea for a poor product choice. If it’s was for something else other then cigarettes then I would heart it and say it’s a win
